About the Child Reintegration Centre

The Child Reintegration Centre (CRC) is a globally recognized child welfare organization that transforms the lives of vulnerable children by empowering families and strengthening communities. It was founded on July 4th, 2000 following the 11 years of brutal civil war in Sierra Leone. It started as a residential care facility and later fully transitioned to family-based care in 2017. In addition to providing best care practices across the globe, the CRC now supports over 600 children in more than 400 families across the country of Sierra Leone. In partnership with the Sierra Leone United Methodist Church Conference, the CRC’s main activities are funded by a partnering 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Helping Children Worldwide (HCW) based in Chantilly, VA, USA.

The CRC serves over 450 families and 1,600 children in Bo, where we are headquartered, and in families in Southern District and in cities like Freetown and Kenema, and villages like Fengehun and Sammie.
